Manu: eDodakaM mUlaPalamannamaByudyataM ca yat . sarvataH pratigf-
hlIyAnmaDvaTABayadakziRAm (Kullukā: aBayaM cAtmatrARAtmakaM [Page234-b+ 56]
prItihetutvAddakziRAtulyaM). E. aBaya and dakziRA, lit. ‘safety,
as it were, a present’.
