South is a noun, adjective, or adverb indicating direction or Template:Wiki.

South is one of the four cardinal directions or Template:Wiki points. It is the polar Template:Wiki of north and is Template:Wiki to east and west.

By convention, the bottom side of a map is south.

To go south using a Template:Wiki for Template:Wiki, set a bearing or Template:Wiki of 180°.

True south is the direction towards the southern end of the axis about which the earth rotates, called the Template:Wiki. The Template:Wiki is located in Template:Wiki. Template:Wiki is the direction towards the Template:Wiki, some distance away from the south geographic pole.

The word south is derived from the name of one of the four dwarves in Template:Wiki, Template:Wiki, who each represented one of the directions of the world. The Template:Wiki of South can be traced back to the Template:Wiki word suth, related to the Template:Wiki word sund, and perhaps sunne in Template:Wiki with sense of "the region of the Template:Wiki."
