Buddhism
Buddhism, religion and philosophy founded in
India 528 BCE by Siddhattha Gotama, called the Buddha. One of the great
world religions, it is divided into two main schools: the Theravada in Sri
Lanka and SE Asia, and the Mahayana in China, Mongolia, Korea, and Japan. A
third school, the Vajrayana, has a long tradition in Tibet and Japan.
Buddhism has largely disappeared from its country of origin, India, except
for the presence there of many refugees from the Tibet region of China and
now, an increasingly new number of converts from the lower castes of
Hinduism.

Sikhism
Sikhism advocates the belief in one
panentheistic God (Ek Onkar) who is omnipresent and has infinite qualities,
whose name is true (Satnam), who is beyond the time (Akaal), who has no
image (Murat), who is beyond from birth and death circulation (Ajunee), who
is self-existent (Sai Bhang) and with the grace of word guru (eternal light)
we can meet him (Gurprasaad). Sikhs do not have a gender for God, nor do
they believe God takes a human form. According to the founder of Sikhism,
Guru Nanak, the supreme purpose of human life is to reconnect with Akal (The
Timeless One), however, egotism is the biggest barrier in doing this.

Tibetan Buddhism
Tibetan Buddhism rigpawiki is practiced
throughout the Himalayan region, and, indeed, throughout the world. It dates
back to the royal period of the so-called 'Yarlung dynasty', especially the
time of King Trisong Detsen rigpawiki, during whose reign great Indian
Buddhist masters like Shantarakshita rigpawiki, Guru Padmasambhava and
Vimalamitra rigpawiki were invited to Tibet, and the country's first
monastery was founded at Samyé. Several schools developed over the following
centuries, the foremost among them being the Nyingma rigpawiki, Sakya
