Hsüan-lang; 玄朗 (673–754) (PY Xuanlang; Jpn Genro); The fifth patriarch of the T'ient'ai school in China. He engaged in the T'ient'ai practice of concentration and insight under Hui-wei at T'ien-kung-ssu temple in Tung-yang.

Thereafter he continued this practice on Mount Tso-hsi for more than thirty years. In his later years, he lectured on the T'ient'ai doctrines and devoted himself to Template:Wiki his disciples.

Hsüan-lang transmitted the teaching to his disciple, Miao-lo, who, as the sixth patriarch, clarified and further developed T'ient'ai's teaching and contributed to the restoration of the school.
