East is a noun, adjective, or adverb indicating direction or Template:Wiki. East is one of the four cardinal directions or compass points. It is the Template:Wiki of west and is Template:Wiki to north and south.

By convention, the right hand side of a map is east.

To go east using a compass for Template:Wiki, set a bearing or Template:Wiki of 90°.

East is the direction toward which the Earth rotates about its axis, and therefore the Template:Wiki direction from which the Template:Wiki appears to rise.

During the Template:Wiki, "The East" was sometimes used to refer to the Template:Wiki and Template:Wiki, along with other Template:Wiki.

Throughout Template:Wiki, the East has also been used by Template:Wiki in reference to the Template:Wiki and Template:Wiki Template:Wiki.

The word east is derived from the Template:Wiki *aus-to- or *austra- "east, toward the sunrise", from Template:Wiki *aus- "to shine," or "dawn". Template:Wiki, a Template:Wiki goddess of dawn, might have been a Template:Wiki of both dawn and the cardinal points.
